Post-War and Contemporary Highlights From London on View in New York

Christie’s invites you to an exhibition of highlights from the upcoming Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction in London will be on view in New York, featuring works by Richter, Judd, Hockney and Warhol. Representing key figures of the 20th century as well as masters of the contemporary art scene, the works will be shown alongside the Old Master view, featuring, featuring Botticelli, Dürer, Raphael and Gericault. Key contemporary highlights include an early work by Hockney, Great Pyramid at Giza with Broken Head from Thebes, which prefigures his later Californian series of swimming pools, and Warhol’s Jackie, an extremely rare tondo canvas, which marks a classic moment in Pop art.

Sotheby’s S|2 exhibition, Wanderlust, will be opening in New York this Friday 2 November.

This exhibition showcases a collection of works from around the world as seen through the eyes of acclaimed collector and art advisor Nicolai Frahm. His broad aesthetic encompasses what he characterizes as “very minimal, clean, Zen” to the “very pop, figurative, in-your face.” Nicolai travels the world in search of the most interesting art of this time, and Wanderlust highlights some of the discoveries Nicolai is most proud of.
